Pretty neat to have your first album. I will treasure it. I pray that you will beable to go home soon.
Hey Holly,
I’m working at Callisto Clinic today. As always when I work at Callisto, I was catching up on how you are doing. I think about you often. I want you to know that you are somewhat of a celebrity. We all talk about you and pray for you and think about you…..all the time. Dear Holly,
YOUR CD is outstanding!!!!!!
Holly, I never knew what an angelic, beautiful voice you have! I have been listening to you sing from my cars CD player as I am be-bopping down the road! I am so impressed. You are so talented!
Holly, when you start your professional singing career in a few years, I would like you to hire me. I am applying right now to be your personal graphic artist. You will need someone to do the advertising for your concerts and design covers for all the CD’s you will be making.
Take good care of yourself and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Jan Haynes
Holly, Erin, and family,
Tonight we had bible study and we said a prayer for you all. We also said a prayer tonight as a family before the kids went to bed for you Holly, so that God can help heal you so you can have your transplant. We will keep on praying!
We are going to be down from August 13-26th. Tony’s Mom had heart surgery so part of the time we will be driving to Oregon. But we would love to see you guys if your feeling up to it. If you want anything from Ketchikan, I can bring something down. Just let me know.
Well off to get some sleep. Sweet dreams tonight! Hang in there, you are my hero!
Hi,
Thinking of you lots and sending all our love. We’ve had some rain lately, but the sun will shine again just as you will. I can’t wait to see you all again.
Much Love and Prayers
Auntie La Lo
Hey Guys, I haven’t written in awhile but I thought I would send you a note to say I sent a package out for you today. And Oscar and I will be down the middle of August. Take care and we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.
Have tried calling you-you must have to charge your cell!
Hope things are going well with the appointments and that Lily is holding in there–I know you are–you are so strong! But you hang in there too!
Carol and Jason want to make a bunch of your cds and put them out for people to make donations to you! That’s too cool! Carol has sent you an email too.
Not too much longer until the BIG DAY! You all are in our thoughts and prayers!
WE LOVE YOU!!
Mimi
Hello from the Torres family! Good to hear that things are moving forward. We still keep all of you in our prayers for continued strength and healing. Hope the days go quickly and before you know it – everyone is back home in Ketchikan. God bless – - – Olivia, Miguel, Marco, Lisa and Emo
Oh – we need to mail you the copy of the 4th of July parade!
I’m so glad to here that you are in remission! What fabulous news!
Things here in Ketchikan are busy, busy, busy. The weather has been great and Mr. Hewitt and I have been doing all of the summer chores like working in the garden, painting the house, getting my new room ready, and preparing for and then taking care of all of our out of state visitors. It has been a lot of hard work! (and here I was thinking that the summer time was going to be an actual “break”…not!) All I know is that I feel like I have definitely earned the trip to Hawaii that we are taking right before school starts back up. Isn’t that a nice way to start the new year?
Hope that all is going well for you and that you and Lily go into the transplant strong, healthy and upbeat. Please know that you have the love, support and well wishes of the entire community behind you and that our thoughts are with you all of the time.
Congratulations on the remission! Great news. This is quite a marathon for you and your family, perhaps better likened to an ultramarathon. Try to relax and enjoy your summer in Seattle. Looking forward to hearing more good news in late July. Take care.
Hey there Erin, Holly and the entire family! Glad to know that you are all down there together. That must be really nice. I bet it sure helps you get through the week. Sounds like all the upcoming appointments will be rough with the weather being so nice! We have been hot here too. It was my 20 year class reunion and I got a sunburn on my forehead and even my scalp! Go figure. We keep sending prayers your way! Tell everyone hi for us and Erin thanks for keeping this blog up. I know that must be difficult with all you are already doing. God Bless!!
Stopped by the classroom this morning to water the plants. Summer school is over already and the place is very quiet. We are supposed to get a Smartboard for the classroom. Once installed, it will be used like the whiteboard except it also interfaces with the computer. I’m pretty excited about having it for the next school term. We used one last spring and it was great. But who wants to talk about scholl?
The weather is great and is expected to hold up for the parade tomorrow. Wouldn’t that be a nice 4th of July gift for Ketchikan! The booths are getting put up and a few lumpia should not be too far behind. I’ll have one for you. Man, the 4th of July is here and soon, the Blueberry Festival. Can the summer be going by that fast?
Hope all is well with you. Please know that we think of you often and send our best.
Hey Holly Girl!
Sure do miss you! Sorry the phone call the other night was so crazy. I have tried for two days to get back to you-you must have your phone off!
We had sunny weather yesterday and today looks like a good day. Maybe we’ll get a sunny 4th for once!
Did you decide what you were going to do on the 4th?
Hope to hear from you soon! I love you (up to the sky and back) and miss you-horribly!
ME
Hey, Holly Girl!
Haven’t heard from you in a while! Hope you are doing well! We had winter rain yesterday but today looks like it might be ok.
Jadyn and Katie came over and hung out with Bob for Father’s Day! It was nice to see them and we had a good time.
Then Kim’s daughter, Summer, had her 3rd birthday party at my apartment the next day. We had dinner and then Sharyl and Tony came over for cake, ice cream and presents. That was fun too.
Wish you were here! I miss you terribly! Can’t wait to see your smiling face again!
I LOVE YOU UP TO THE SKY AND BACK!
Mimi
Hey there Holly and family! Today was a big day for you from what your Mom was telling me! You lucky girl, all done with your chemo. That is a reason to celebrate! I am very proud of you for being so strong. You are definately on my list of heros!
I went to the benefit concert tonight at the High School. There were some beautiful photos of you there. So many kids, families, friends there to celebrate you! Your mom looked good and Matt did a great job singing a song for you. Much better than I could do!
I really had a good time. It looked like it was being videotaped so you probably will get to watch it pretty soon. The next concert I want to see about you is the one you are starring in. You have an amazing voice like an angel. So I sure hope you are practicing so when you come home you can sing for all you fans.
Well I am off to bed. It was great to see your Mom and talk to her. I got to give her a big hug. I liked that! It is not everyday I get to hug other people besides my babies.
Tell you Dad and everyone that I said hi. I hope you guys have a great time together for Fathers Day.
Hey Erin and Holly,
I just got done reading your blog. Sounds like things are moving right along for you. I have been keeping you in my prayers and cannot wait until you have your transplant. Thank you Erin for the posting. I had just asked Kim tonight about how Holly was doing. I know you are pretty busy.
Glad to hear that Nate and Dean are now down there with you all too. I am sure it will be wonderful for you to have your brothers and sister and parents with you.
I am excited to attend the benefit concert this Friday. My friend Dawn and her Mom are going. I wish Craig, Devin and Tony were home – they would love it.
I am very proud of you Holly for being such a wonderful young lady and for the strength you have to keep on going even though this has to be very hard. I am thankful to know you and also your family. What a blessing you all are.
Hey Holly! How are you? Things here are good. Summer is going pretty good. Tony and Devin are on their way to Eagle River Boy Scout Camp tomorrow and Craig is in Japan. You can check out the groups website if you want at :
He said they have some very creepy spiders over there. I told him to take some photos for me to see.
I sure hope you and your family are doing good and enjoying the sunshine. I am looking forward to your next blog. I will keep checking back. I hear a lot of talk about people going to the concert for you this Friday. I am going to go too. It will be fun!
Well have a wonderful weekend and tell your Mom I said hi.
Hi Holly and family!
How are all of you doing? I keep you in my prayers everyday and hope the chemo is almost over for you. I saw your dad yesterday and he is so excited to see you! He said that he put the car on the barge and that he gets to stay with you for a very long time. I’m glad that you will all be together again and hope you are able to have some fun times. Grandma Mimi is out of the hospital. Hopefully she is feeling better now.
Be strong and remember that we are all praying for you,
Mary Ann
Hi Holly!
Lots of stuff has been going on since I last talked to you! The last day of school was crazy! Mr. Lindemann hurt himself and is now in a wheelchair, I think he got hurt chasing a student down the hall. Everything is melting because it is so HOT! We had our attic floor ripped up (I still have a big smile on my face when I think of you and Neva and your dodge ball fight!)
We miss you and your family too much to even say! Can’t wait to see you!
Lots of love,
Miss Penny
Hey there guys! I have been watching for a new blog, but haven’t seen one for a while so I wanted to stop by and check in to see how things are going? How are you feeling Holly? Unbelievable when it is 80 degrees out! Well anyhow, been thinking bout all of you and keeping you in my prayers. Take Care! Sharyl

-Amber

The sun is out today but the last couple of mornings it’s been out and then starts to rain around 730!
Uncle Ed said that you looked good when he saw you! Did you get to the employee store?
more people coming to Curves so I need to stop writing!
I LOVE YOU UP TO THE SKY AND BACK!
Grandma Mimi
Hi Holly,
Sounds like you have been getting to do some fun stuff despite going through chemo. We have been keeping you in our prayers each day and hope you get to feeling better soon. I remember how I felt when I was getting chemo. Hang in there, you are an amazing girl.
Hey – you are such a fabulous singer! Oh my goodness, I love your video!!! The boys and I listened to it together. I am very impressed ( maybe a bit jealous as I cannot sing at all!).
Anyhow, hope you and your Mom and family are doing good.
Dear Holly Girl!
It has been awhile since I got to talk to you. I sent you a text message yesterday but I don’t know if you got it or not–maybe your phone is “dead” again?!
How are you doing?
I had a fun weekend. It was Memorial Day so I got an extra day off!
It is raining again here. But maybe that is a good thing–then I won’t be so mad about having to go to work?!!
I hope you, Lily, Sean and Mom are doing well! (Give them all hugs from me) I LOVE YOU(UP TO THE SKY AND BACK) and MISS YOU SO MUCH!
Grandma Mimi
Just want to say “Hello” and remind you that we are all thinking about you. The school year is winding down and we are bracing for a hectic couple of weeks. Our class is going to conduct a mock trial at the courthouse Friday. We’ll also take the city bus for free! That should be fun.
The kids keep going to the computers and accessing your site (even when they are supposed to be in another program…thank you very much =;) to hear the Holly tunes. Everyone is very impressed and eager to hear more.
Good luck down there and keep a positive attitude. That soccer song, Tubthumping, by Chumbawanda, is a perfect tune for taking a few hard licks and getting up again. Or, how about that 1990’s Des’ree song (I don’t know if you were born yet for this one):
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold,
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard,
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger,
You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm,
You gotta stay together…
I’ll have to dig up that song and get it to you. Hang in there, little girl.
Hey Holly!!
I can’t belive it that u r back here. Next year r u going to be in the school?? If u came back everyone would be so happy and screaming welcome back Holly!!!! When u r outside your friends will be hanging out with u so much and say what was like there. Well, welcome back Holly!!!!!!!!
Thanks for this wonderful CD. I can’t believe that Holly did this and congratulate her for such a beautiful rendition of the songs. She really has talent and in her health condition she deserves a lot of credit and praise. I hope she keeps up with both her strength and health as well as keeping her determination to do more for herself To keep going and passing on her talents for all of to hear and enjoy.
GOD BLESSINGS TO HOLLY and ALL WHO KEEP HER IN WONDERFUL SPIRITS and HOPE.
Love peace and God’s blessings, Sister Cecilia

Good luck with the travel plans. That would be great for you to get out and about. You would have to have an appointment secretary to schedule your “good will” tour here in Ketchikan, as there are so many folks who miss you.
Our class is headed to Ward Lake tomorrow. The weather is getting back to normal, so we will pack the boots and rain gear. May is such a busy time for all the classrooms and kids. We all cross our fingers for your green light to travel. Later.
Hey Holly! Hows agoin’? Are good? I hope so! We really enjoy writing you! I can’t believe that you have your own web page! I’m not even a loud to have my own web page!
buy-buy Holly-Girl!
Hi Holly!
I have been thinking about you a lot lately and just wanted to let you know how much you are being missed in our classroom! Your grandma brought back some pictures of you from her trip and I have them taped to my computer where everyone can see you! You look like you have grown even taller!
We are doing a big Maypole Project in class. Do you know what a Maypole is? You probably do! Any way we are working through the whole process of the design, construction, decoration and it’s traditions for math. It is definitely something that you would have loved to be involved in. We could really use your leadership abilities! I’ll try and take pictures so you can see some of the process.
The weather the past few days has been amazing and all of the kids come back to class after PE and recess complaining about how hot it is…funny huh! I mean it’s all of about 55 degrees out there and they act like they are on the surface of the sun or something!
Hi Holly! How are you? I really hope that you are feeling fine! You should be here its always sunny and always nice outside I really enjoyed my weekend. I hope you are enjoying your stay in Seattle! We miss you very much and we hope you are doing fine! I hope to see you here very soon!

Holly Honey!
I (Kali) had a dream that you were up here and I was spending time with you. You were out of treatment and doing much better. I was so glad I had the chance to get to know you better. You were wearing a black sweatshirt and a cute black cap and we were in the living room of your dad’s old place by Bar Harbor. I think you might have had to go back south, but I was so grateful I could spend time with you while you were here.
We miss you. We think and talk about you a lot. You are a sweet and special girl, person, human being. Ketchikan isn’t quite right without you, and we hope you can come home soon, even if it’s only for a visit. We want to see you and bring you yummy food and hugs!
Love always and forever,
Megan and Kali

Hi Holly,
Wonderful news that Lillie will be able to help her big sister. We were thinking of you over Easter, hope you had lots of eggs to find. The boys spent half the day hiding them from each other.
Every time we go by your house we say a quick prayer for you. Keep up that beautiful smile and we’ll keep praying for you.
Kitty
Hi Beautiful Holly Girl & Family, Just a short heartfelt note to wish all of ya’ll a Happy Easter!! I’m so happy that ya’ll have your own space and that all of ya’ll are together for the holiday. Sending you positive energy, spiritual inspiration and encouragement for you to stay strong as possible.
Hi Holly, I was just sitting here think about when you were in my class right before Christmas helping your brother make his gingerbread house. What a nice thing for you to do:) I miss seeing your smile around the halls but I’m sure it won’t be long before we see your smiling face again. Until then, I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy seeing pictures of you and hearing how your doing through this website. Neva keeps me informed too. Well do me a favor and give your mom a BIG hug for me. Sometimes us mom’s just need that:) I think about you everyday and can’t wait to see back at Houghtaling.
Love,
Mrs. Varela
Hey Holly what up?? Sorry I didnt send you a letter in a while but we have been busy in 4th 5 th and 6th grade with the SBA’s this week. Do you like kirbys?? <(”<) Trevin did the kirby () guy with glasses <.<
How are you doing? The fourth grade was having sale for you. They were selling milk, it was good milk. It was brown milk. We had gust got stop doing are SBA testing. Did you now that Lincoln was elected to the congress in1846.
Everyone in the school misses you I hope that you come back next week or so The song that you sang was very good. I can’t even sing like that. I wish that I could sing like you. Guess what, It was my birthday on April 2. It was fun a little.
On March 28 I saw a famous filipino. Her name is Rachelle Ann.Her friends names are Niki and Jimmy. They are famous because they are singers. I wish that I could see her again, but she went back to the Philippines.
Well, talk to you later.
Hi Holly,
What have you been up to lately? Fifth and the sixth have just got done with SBA’s and the fourth graders are doing there science one. You must be glad you are not doing this or maybe you are not glad that you are missing the SBA’s. Well I have to go now, talk to you later.
Bye
Holly Dolly!
I’m sorry that it’s been so long since I’ve written. PLEASE know that it isn’t because I haven’t been thinking about you! It’s been very busy here in Room 110! We have been working hard trying to learn all of the things that 4th graders need to know. Sometimes I worry that their brains are getting so filled up with new information that their heads will explode! Hey! Maybe that would explain all of the bad hair days…or maybe it’s just all of the rain and other cruddy weather that we have had this “spring”.
The “big testing” began yesterday and I think that everyone did a great job! Reading was on day one, Writing is today, Math will be tomorrow, and finally, Science on day four, Friday! What a week! It made me think about the fact that even more than on MOST days, I REALLY wished you were here at your desk with us! Seriously though, I was super pleased with our whole class. I am very proud because I could see that they worked so hard (I could almost smell the smoke coming off of their overheated brains) and took it very seriously. We are so lucky to have such an awesome class Holly!
Speaking of the awesome class, we were finally able to achieve the goal that we had of everyone getting a 100% on their spelling test! Yea! In celebration of this tremendous event I ordered a jumbo cheese and a jumbo pepperoni pizza from Godfather’s and you know what? We almost finished both of them during earned activity time! There were only three small pieces left! There are some very big eaters in Room 110!
We got a couple more fish and boy do I wish you were here to help out! There was drama almost immediately because, despite that fact that I bought fish that are supposed to get along with each other, one of the new ones (Sunset) began to munch on Jerry’s tail! Of course we were absolutely appalled by this, so Tori brought in a smaller aquarium and Sunset was promptly placed into, what we are calling the “time out” bowl! We still don’t trust Sunset very much, so she remains in there…alone. As a result of this I’m now getting a lot of pressure to get her a friend because it is thought that she might be lonely and bored in there all alone. Soooo, when I go shopping for the “buddy” I will definitely be getting the same type of fish and make sure that it is about the same size she won’t be able to pick on it! Hopefully this will take care of any issues!
I’m so glad that you finally have a place of your own and can relax, get comfortable, and really settle in. Hopefully it will make a huge difference in how you are able to sleep and get that all-important rest! We need you and your mom to be as hearty and happy as possible so you can focus on powering through this and getting healthy! Take care, get your rest, and eat your vegetables!
Remember that we love you and think about you everyday!
Mrs. Hewitt
Hello,
It is very quiet in the halls at school today. All intermediate classes are taking their reading SBA’s. We ate breakfast in class, had gum all day, and generally had a fine day. Tomorrow is the writing portion of the testing. Whoopee! The class sends their best wishes. What did I read about you cleaning your room? You are making it rough on other kids, when their folks read that posting.
Hi Holly,
We are slow in sending messages but we are praying for you and your family everyday. The boys have gumbed up my computer so I send this from work. So glad to hear you got the apartment having your own space is nice. We are anxiously waiting to hear the blood test results, praying for a good match with Dean or Lilly. Keep your chin up and hugs from the Potts’s
Your apartment looks great! Ken (Daniel’s Dad) took a walk one day and saw the RMH and said it looked really nice. I will have to visit when we go back for Daniel’s checkup. I am so excited you have a new place to relax and be able to COOK and have your own space! It is important. When Daniel was in treatment, one of my sister’s friends offered her empty house since she wintered in Arizona – it was a God-send and I still am in awe of how things work out. Keep your chin up. Is Jean-Jean JellyBean still working in the infusion room? I think I told you that Daniel said she has the best candy…
Let us know your new address – mail is always fun!
I just wanted to drop by and say hello. I was thinking of you both. I am glad to hear you have an apartment. That must be pretty wonderful. We all seem to forget about the simple things in life – like privacy. We have been keeping you in our prayers each day. You are both very strong ladies and I am proud of you! Anyhow, hope today is a great day for you. It is raining here in Ketchikan but I don’t mind because we need the water. I am going to sell some girl scout cookies at the mall so I need to get going. Have a wonderful day!
Hey Holly! Srry I was late i forgot all about it lol! Anyway, how you doing? Hey guess what? Me and my friends saw a deer in my woods! We saw a couple of times and i got some injury’s while i was playing at lunch recess like Jackson kicked a soccer ball at my face! Anyway the activaty time we had to day was pretty quiet but we had pizza! Hope you feel better! =)
I love and miss you VERY much. I hope to get down there to see you again soon. I love love love the thing your Grandma Mimi put up of you singing!! Was that Tom Tom in the background? I sure don’t miss him lol!!!!!
Hi sweet Holly Girl, just checking in with you…..Love you so much!! Send me a text when you get a chance okay? Do you need or want anything from here that I could get for you? Give Mom a hug from me okay? Love you!
Every night Ava and Morgan remember you in their prayers and they are praying that you get well very soon. Stay strong kiddo.
Lately i have been training for the Sourdough Stampede (which is scheduled for this weekend) with Morgan and AVA. Morgan is going to run the 1 mile segment of this fun run. Last night she finished one mile without stopping in a time of 8:54…wow. We are dedicating our run to you and hope that you get better real soon.
It is snowing and the sun is shinning at the same time. I hope that we get some good weather for the run tomorrow. we will send you some pictures of the run.
You guys take care and get well soon. Everyday we think of you and say a small prayer that you will feel better.
Uncle Michael
Hi Holly,
I’m sorry of how the test results came out, but I do hope that Dean, and Lily are a match for the bone transplant. The humming bird contest is out again and we are going to send you one I think. I’ll ask Mr. O’Brien if we could send one to you though. Oh… one more thing, softball season is coming and I hope you were doing it this year.
Bye!
We’re speechless in how hard you working to fight off this cancer! We’re all so proud of you! We know that you can do it! Its going to be okay Holly. You will win this thing! As you know life here in Ketchikan is the same! The only difference is that you’re not here and we miss you terribly! Hope you feel better and hope you come back here with us. Softball is starting this Saturday and the Humming bird contest is this April!
We had Rahclle Ann falling in love concert and it was awesome!! I toke pictures with them and they were awesome too.

Maybe we can send you a sheet and you can enter! It starts on the first Monday of April. I love your bedset. It’s very cool.
Hey Holly! I used to work with your Grandmother and I just wanted to wish you well and let you know that my family and I are praying you’ll be well soon. Sending all our prayers and hugs to you.
We just heard about your website from auntie Jessa! We just want you to know that we love you very much! We live in Bellingham now and when we have a little more money we want to come see you! Your very strong HollyGirl! We love you and your in our prayers!
Hi Holly and Erin. I read your blog today. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Erin – I got an email this morning. I thought of you and had to go back to that email just now so I can put here what the last sentances were in the email I received. Here it is:
He never asks you to bear something that is bigger than the strength he puts inside of you through his Holy Spirit.
I thought of you because this is so true. God is with you, and He will guide you and Holly through this. His strength is showing already through Holly and her courage and ability to find the simple joys in life in this time where she is fighting her cancer. Hang in there. I wish there was something I could do for you both to make it easier and to give you more comfort. I think of you both every day. I will keep you in my prayers. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.
Hey Holly!
How are you doing? I heard and saw that Neva came to see you and that Mr.O’Brien came to see you too! Did you have fun @th aqarium and with your cousins? I hope so! That would be so much fun playing around with your cousins on a trip! That would be so fun! You lucky girl I’ve never had any of my cousins come and see me while I was sick! Hope your having fun with all of your friends, teachers and family!
We recently had Kanayama come to our school! the assembly was awesome! Revilla came over and they played with puppets and they called them selves the ” Revilla Puppeteers”. Then Hot feats performed and they gave the Kanayama students their gift bags! It was very cool!
Hi Holly!
It’s me, Amber. I was just stopping by your website to say “hi”. So here it is: HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not much has been going on, but the Kanayama kids from Japan came to Houghtaling!!!! The ones in my class were named Airi (Eye-lee) and Tamakoe. We also had an assembly. There were puppets, jump-roping, dancing, and lots of fun!
Well, that’s really all that’s been happening (it’s not much. is it?) so I guess I’ll get back to work.

What’s up Holly! So hows it going? The class is having a great time! today (march-25-2009) we had a kaniyama (japanees, i don’t know how to spell it) assembly and other things in the assembly like the revilla kids did like a puppet dance and played songs like penut butter jelly time, gummy bear, and this other song everyone knows but i forgot the name of it. I also hope you’re feeling better because even if we had a lot of fun we still miss you =) also why can’t a rooster cross the road? Because he was to chicken! lol! Btw Brendon’s dad,Shikim,Trevor,Preston, and Tim,and Preston’s brother, and Tim’s little brother fired a toy rocket in top field! Isn’t that great!
I’ll be writing back in the first day of April!
Hi Sweet, Beautiful Holly Girl, It warms my heart to see that you are surrounded by so many loved ones and that you are getting to have some fun.
I don’t know the words to describe just how brave and inspirational you really are. Phenominal is one word:)
Your parents did a great job and are so blessed to have you! It truly is amazing how you have touched the hearts of so many, lots that don’t even know you.
Jim, from GCI was working at my house yesterday and he shared some stories.
I see the love in your beautiful eyes! I’m so happy that your Daddy is with you. I wish he could be by your side day & night. Who knows – maybe he can – never give up HOPE…..
Here’s a lil’ saying -HOW DO YOU SPELL FRIENDSHIP?
Forgive each other.
Refresh each other.
Invest in each other.
Encourage each other.
Nurture each other.
Depend on each other.
Share with each other.
Help each other.
Inspire each other.
Pray for each other!!!!!!
I’d say you are totally “off the hook” (that saying is probably not cool anymore, I’m behind the times:) when it comes to understanding the true meaning of friendship. Alot of people are learning from you. I know I sure have! I hope to meet you one day soon. And, don’t hesitate to ask if there’s something special I can get you from K-town or do for you and your family.
Praying for and thinking of you always – and My Baby Girl, 28:) Adi is too.
Holly,
Hang in there, girly! We know you can! This is the part where you see the extremes of life: it get so bad sometimes that the good parts stand out like electric lights in a dark city, like the bioluminescence in the ocean at night, like your glowing eyes. Now is when you learn what love really is: you know people love you when it costs them, not just money, but time, tears, prayers, physical exhaustion. You are worth loving! So soak it up Holly honey, because it will help you not only survive, but thrive.
*BEAR HUGS!*
Megan and Kali
Hi Holly! You are a star!!!! We are so happy to hear your chemo is going well and that you are able to be out and about……………. We were at the Space Needle in 1962 during the Seattle World’s Fair!!!! It was neat then and it’s even neater now…………..I guess I should say it’s Cool! Loved all the pictures in your photo album……We have so much snow up here…….almost 16″ at our house. I am anxious to talk to Grama Mimi so she can tell me all about how you are doing……………can’t wait to see your haircut! Remember we are keeping you close to our hearts and in our prayers.

Hey Holly,
I thought I would stop by and say hello this wonderful Saturday morning. I sure hope that you are feeling ok. I think of you often and we are keeping you in our prayers each day. Today I am going to the March of Dimes Scrapathon. Maybe next year you and your mom and Grandma Mimi can come too! Wouldn’t that be fun? Well you have a great day and keep smiling. Tell your Mom and Grandma hi for me.
Sharyl
Hello Holly & Erin, Happy St. Patricks Day to you both. I hope you are enjoying the family visit. It is snowing here today, so if you have anything other than snow be thankful. Stay strong and I will talk at you both later. Enjoy Spring Break!
The school was quite a buzz today being the last day before spring break, everyone sure misses you! We are praying for you (& momma) and thinking of you all of the time. Larsen sure misses you and gets really sad when we talk about you; wondering how you are doing.
When you are getting your treatments or are feeling sick try to think of fun times that you have had with your friends. Remember last Halloween when we played the paper mummy game and everyone was trying to cover you with all that toilet paper? I will see if I can get a copy of the pic that I took and send it to you.
It was almost 50 degrees here today, it felt like spring (finally). The birds were chirping and Larsen and I had to take our rain coats off when we were outside. There is still some snow on the ground though.
I’ll bet you are happy to have the rest of your family flying down to be by you. Please try to keep your chin up and be strong.
Hi Holly,:-)
How have things been in Seattle? Do you still like the pink pee? Will you take green chemo on Saint Patrick’s Day? Ha ha ha. Anyways have fun at the Ronald McDonald House.

Hi sweet girls! How are you doing today? I hope this finds you feeling okay. I am going to get Baby Ben in just awhile, going to just spend the day with him. He is talking so much. The other day he whispered, “where papa?” I said Papa is at work, and then he said, “papa work”!!!!! He is so cute. But so much work. We will have to train you to babysit him when you get home Holly! You are about the age, maybe a little younger when your Mom started watching the boys! Wouldn’t that just be funny? Now you watch Shaun’s son! We’ll work on that when you get home! I love you both very much and think about you every single day! Love Auntie Karen and family!

I hope you feel better and come back soon
Hi Holly and Erin!
Hard to believe its been over a month since you headed to Seattle. Charles and I were out of town when we heard the news and while I wish it had been better, it’s good that you know what you have and can begin to fight it. I remember talking to your mom when everyone thought you had mono. I am sure it was hard to be sick and not know why. So now you can concentrate on healing. I’ve been catching up on your posts and I love that you are so strong and able to handle all the medicine, chemo, needles, doctors. You are amazing.
Here in Ketchikan, everywhere I go I see and hear people talking about Holly and wanting to help. Charles and I are going to take some things up to Houghtaling for the garage sale. Charles, Kevin and Cameron are all Houghtaling Dolphins too! At church we say prayers for you and your family every Sunday and of course every day on our own as well. I hope it helps you not to worry so much that Dean, Lily and Sean are well cared for when they aren’t with you. We all want to help however we can so that you can concentrate on your job right now.
We have crazy March weather. Snow one day, sun the next and today? Rain and snow. Our husky, Oreanna, likes the snow and cold weather but she’s not much for the rain.
Since you like dogs so much, have you been following the Iditarod? We are all rooting for Lance Mackey- of course! Charles got to meet him a few years ago in Fairbanks. Charles said he is a very nice man who, by the way, fought cancer too and now he wins Iditarods! He and Charles decided they must be “cousins” since our name is spelled the same. Anyway, you can visit the Iditarod web site at http://www.iditarod.com to keep up with the race. And I hope you’ll cheer for Lance.
If you get a chance, please send us your mailing address. Take care and know that we all send much love and many, many prayers to you!
Love,
Patti, Charles, Kevin and Cameron
Hey you! Sorry I didn’t call last night. The time seem to slip away. I thought about it was going to do it after dinner and the next thing I knew it was 9 and that would have been 10 where you were so thought it would be too late. How did it go yesterday?
Only 4 more sleeps and Dean and I will be done to see you! Can’t wait. Can’t believe that I haven’t seen you since February 4th!
Love you! Call me!
Grandma Mimi
Hey Miss Holly and Miss Erin,
Just thought I would drop by and say hello. I hope you are feeling as well as can be expected. We miss having you at home. Oscar is doing well. He has adjusted well to the life of being on the go all of the time. Go to daycare, go to school, go to this, go to that, go home and do it all over again. Take care and I will talk at you guys later.
~Eryn

Hey Holly,
It was nice to chat with your mom a few days ago. Matt came by and helped move our new fridge, and was at our house when your mom called.
Matt sure misses you and your mom, and so do we here at Houghtaling! I heard from Mrs. Berg that she had a nice visit with you last week. We think of you all the time and wish you well.
Keep your strength up, and your hopes up. Hug your mom. Remember that we love you.
Mrs. Brooks
Holly and Family, Just dropping you a quick note to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have been praying for you each night and want you to know that the Lighthouse Church of God is praying as well..
Please let us know if there is anything we can do here at home.
Hi Holly,
Just thinking about you and praying for you and your family. I miss you and my Thursday First Place for Health Group is praying especially for you these days.
Love always,
You are an amazing, strong, and brave young woman! Your inner strength is a testament to all the wonderful things that you will accomplish and obtain in your life. We are lucky to know you and gain inspiration from your wonderful attitude. Keep up the great job and know that we are rooting for you here in Anchorage.
Hi Holly & Family, I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting ya’ll yet. Holly, your wonderful Daddy has been upgrading my outdated technology equipment for some time now and has been a blessing. I see you totally have inherited his brilliant brains for the technology, and then some. He always talks about his babies(no matter how old you are – you’ll remain his baby girl) which I’m sure will make you crazy at times, when you get older. LOL. I wanted to let you know that my prayers are with you and your family. I do believe in Jesus and my favorite Saint is St. Jude and have been praying to him for you. I, too have many people in my life that are fighting some hard battles and “YOU DEAR ANGEL” are giving them hope and inspiration. May you continue to stay strong, brave and have faith that you will “WIN THIS BATTLE”. You have touched my heart and so many others and will continue to keep in touch and pass your stories on to many others who are suffering. BTW – cool hat – I have a red and a brown one. Your dad has good taste:) God Bless You All……….
Hey Holly!
This is Cassidy from the pool and I just wanted to say hello, and that I hope everything works out in the end! Stay strong and know that everybody is rooting for your recovery!
Have a lovely day!

You look like an angel in your pictures at the space needle! You’ve got some cute style going on girlfriend! Oh guess what? I guess some neighbors saw a cougar walking around in our new neighborhood! Freaky huh? It would be fun to see one in real life but not up close .
Take care babe,
Love you lots,
Miss Penny

Hi Holly,
Dylan again. Student council is still kind of slow. Only four people came last time and two left early. If you have been missing school lunch (Ha-ha) you haven’t missed anything.
The IdidoREAD started on Sunday so keep track of your reading (So far 2nd grade is winning, but not for long). 5th grade plans on winning. ..

Lots of things are going on. There was a girls basketball game last night. It was Kayhi vs Juneau. It was tied the whole game… until the last 40 seconds. Juneau won by 2 points. It was very exciting.

Hey Holly!
It’s been a couple of days since I’ve written…sorry! I have a great excuse though. I’ve been working hard trying to line up your new Math books. ) Yea!
What I have put together will definitely keep you busy for the rest of the year! I bet you’re really looking forward to that!
I was reading through some of the other postings and Mrs. Smith is right…I will definitely miss your test scores! Miss “super” smarty!
The new pictures on the web site look great, especially the ones at the Space Needle. I LOVED the Space Needle, but when I went the weather wasn’t nearly as nice! It makes me so happy to see you (and at least part) of your family together. What a handsome group!
Take care Holly Girl! Stay strong and remember that everyone in Room 110 is thinking of you and sending you positive our brain waves!
Holly and Erin:
This is an e-mail I got from my cousin Susie (the one that made the quilt and prayer cards for you). I thought it was a pretty special e-mail!
“I just had my Religious Ed class for the first time in two weeks and read what Holly wrote on her website to them. We have a new Vietnamese priest and he came in during class and told the kids how he was not expected to live when he was a child and we talked a little about miracles. We have a family in our church with a young boy (J. F.) who almost died of flesh eating disease. The doctors in Seattle said his survival is an unexplainable miracle. Those who were praying for him know better The priest then said a real nice prayer for Holly. They all made cards for her and Rick will mail them tomorrow. My students took their prayer cards home with a commitment to pray for Holly all during Lent. My assistant took a bunch of prayer cards and said she is going to distribute them to the prayer warriors.”
Hey girlies!
I’ve been thinking about you two a lot lately.
And you Miss Holly… You are truely an amazing and strong young woman. I admire you so much. From the moment I met you in Mrs. Lord’s class I knew you were one of a kind. I know that no matter what life throws at you, you are stronger than most adults and will handle it like a champ!
On a lighter note… I looked at all of your pictures on this website and also on your mom’s. I love Seattle, especially the shopping!! The pictures from the Space Needle were beautiful. What a perfect day to go… But it was pretty high. I would’ve been a little shaky. I will make it up there sooner or later. Have you and your mom been able to go out and go shopping? What do you usually do in your free time?
Hope to hear back from you guys. Miss ya tons. Many prayers.
Hello Holly, you are greatly missed up here since the last time I visited your class. When You get back, I cannot wait for you to join us in playing dodgeball again!
You are one strong kid! You are in everyones prayers. Hope you have some better days and can feel better. Keep smiling and we all hope you can come home for a visit really soon! Get well and give your mom a huge for us. We miss you!

Sooooo… I will have to be there long enough for them to make a back brace, which will be probally a month. I will be @ Childrens alot, and I just might get to visit you!!!!!! The Science fair is in a week! I have to do something for it, and it will take a long time! OH NO!!!! Well, talk to ya soon! Abby Daniels
Hey there Holly and Erin, thought I would drop by and say goodnight before getting ready for bed. I had Grandma Mimi out for dinner and Bob came too. That was nice. We visited about my upcoming 20 year high school reunion and Tony and Bob chatted. We were going to have enchilladas BUT I picked up 3000 boxes of girl scout cookies today for my troop and my house if filled and I ended up not having the time to cook. So we had pizza instead. I am glad that you have such a great week with Jessica visiting and Matt and Dean too. I hope you both are doing well. Sounds like you are one tough cookie Holly from reading your Moms posting. Hang in there and keep up the good work. I am proud of you laides! Erin, I am very proud of you – your inner strength as a Mom is really shining through. I am not sure I would be as strong as you. Well I will say prayers for you guys tonight and special prayers for Holly to keep doing well. If there is anything you need let me know – how about a box or two of girl scout cookies? I can give Grandma Mimi them to send down with Matt on his next trip. Big hugs! Sharyl, Tony, and family
Hi Holly,
We were just stopping by your blog to say hi and to let you know that we are thinking about you. Thank you so much for keeping us posted on what is going on in your life. We hope you are having a good night and staying strong. You are so awesome. Hang in there and we can’t wait until you can come back to Ketchikan!
Hi Holly and Erin
Its very snowy in Ketchikan right now. I hope you girls had a nice visit with Dean. On Friday night I had the honor to watch Sean for a couple of hours while Mimi went to a meeting. It was such a treat. Erin, he is such a good little boy. I seem to have all of Walker and Keegan’s noisy, obnoxious toy trucks and cars and Sean just loved all of them. He also played with our toy vacuum cleaner for at least 45 minutes. Wish it had been a real one because my carpet would have been really clean. Keegan really enjoyed having him here and so did I. I gave him lots of hugs and kisses for you! Take care and have a good week.
Holly
Good Morning! Let’s see… It is 4:30 in the morning. I woke up WAY too early…Grrrrr…

Hi! It’s me again! How you doing? On Monday I saw your little sister Lily. She was getting a drink of water. I wonder when you will be here? What do you do at the Ronald McDonald? Do you have any new friends there? That must be very scary when you had to get three shots. At least you didn’t have to get four shots! I bet when you come back, all your classmates will hug you, hang out with you, and ask what happen at the Ronald McDonald house.

I try to talk to Mom everyday but, sometimes when I call you are sleeping and I don’t need to wake you up or you are out and about. get lots of rest and know that I love you dearly. It took me forever to figure out how to sign this book.

Hi Holly it’s Tori. How are you?Are you making new friends?
Everyone misses you!!!:) I hope you feel better soon!
Well everyone hopes you get better soon.
Dear Holly,
hey girl, I’ve only been in the hospital a couple of times, but I wanted to share a mind trick with you. When I had to get a shot or give blood, I would close my eyes and think about a barbie doll that I had, you know the kind where you could pull the arms off and put them back on. Well I visualize with my eyes closed pulling off my arm like a barbie doll, and I see a space between my arm and body, no blood or gross stuff like that, just sorta like plastic. then when they stick me, i don’t feel it so much because I told my mind that it wasn’t connected. works a little bit and helps me not to flinch when it happens, cuz that makes you bruise up. it doesn’t really work for main ports or pick lines, but on the arms and legs it sure helps me. I will be reading your entries often. I’ve been going down to your house in the mornings on Monday and Tuesday between when Matt leaves for work and Mimi arrives. today was the first time that Sean was awake, he’s not to sure about me, he gets little furled eyebrows. And he really didn’t want to take a bath. Mimi to the rescue, she arrived just in time to save me. You have an amazing family and I know that it’s hard to be apart, but each of you is in each others hearts to give you strength.
Bye for now
Much Love
Auntie Laura

Give her family that same peace and comfort as they help Holly through this chapter of her long life. Thank-you Father for caring for each of your children as if you only had one to look after. Ok,
So I’m not very clever about computers and put this in the wrong place. I wrote to you in the reply section instead of the guest book section. I think that means you’ll see the note on the main page. If not, here it is again.
Holly,
I’m so glad that your mom let us know how things are going. I’m also glad that you have so many people who love you and support you. When my girls were in the hospital I sang to them. I can’t do that for you. But, if you can’t sleep or keep your mind off the hurt, try listening to Enya. Her music is soothing. Miss you!
Love and Best Get Well Wishes,
Ms. Antonsen
Hi Holly, I also work with your Grandma Donna. Wanted to let you know that you’re on my prayer list as well as the prayer list at Milan Baptist Church in little ol’ Milan, Ohio. Our church has a few people in your position on our list and God has done some amazing things. We’re praying that he can touch you in a special way and bring you and your family the comfort that only he can deliver. God Bless!
Dear Holly,
I’m so proud of you for being so brave and keeping a smile on your face! You are a tough Alaskan girl–it is a trait that will serve you well! I sent down some presents for you and your mom. Dylan has them–be sure to ask him.
We pray for you every day! Hang in there, girl! We love you!

Hi sweet Girl just wanted to check in with you today! I hope you’re feeling good today. I Love this website! You have way more friends than anyone I know! I wish we could see you. Good thing we’re not there right now though because I have a tremendous cold and they wouldn’t let me see you anyway. But believe me, first chance I get to come to Seattle, you will be my first stop!!! I Love you so much. Give Mom a big hug from us okay? Then have her hug you from us!!!
Hi Holly!

Love,Raelene Dee Galvin
You would not believe this weather we are having! How is the weather in Seattle? I was just talking with my dad about all his silly dogs(he has 5!) and it made me think of you, I know how much you love dogs!
Wouldn’t that be AWESOME if you could have a dog there!
So I have a question about Lucy( Jadyns dog) I have been walking her and she pulls sooo hard…do you have any advise on how to get her to walk beside me?
Hello Miss Holly I wanted to leave you a note and let you know we’re thinking of you and praying for you everyday. Keep smiling that beautiful smile of yours.
Heather, Mike, Charity, and Kylie

Hey Holly Girl:o)
Whew! What a day, eh? Sooooo glad it’s over for you and that you did so well.
Wow! I sure had to scroll down a LONG way to be able to write to you! So many people sooooooo crazy about you. Good thing you are such a great reader:o)
I love that your mom keeps us posted. Your Gma Mimi is good about it, too.
So, do you get to sleep through the worst parts? Boy, I hope so! Do you already have a favorite “vampire” (blood taker:o)? Isn’t it weird how some people are so much better than others?
Okay- I got a new logic book called “To Bend Your Brain” YIKES! Now I will REALLY be twisted:o)
Try this one…
5 Animals at the zoo get into an argument about their ages because the oldest gets fed first and they’re all ravenous. See if you can figure out how old each animal is.
1. The otter is older than the leopard.
2. The emu is younger than the otter.
3. The leopard is older than the hippopotamus.
4. The hippo is older than the emu and the lion.
5. The lion is older than the emu.
Their ages are 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.
Take care of yourself you sweet girl. Hug that Momma especially hard- Remember, there have been few moms~ in the history of ALL moms ~that have ever loved their kid as much as she loves you.
Lots of Love and Many Prayers~
Mrs. S

Hi Holly!
You don’t know me, but I am a co-worker of Grandma Donna. I work for First American in Cleveland, Ohio. I’ve never met your Grandma face-to-face, but we’ve become good friends over the past few years and I feel as if we have met. Your Grandma is so very proud of you on how brave you’ve been through your journey and I’m sure your family and friends would agree! You are amazing Holly, to have such a positive attitude during this time in your life. And I hear you sometimes have the energy to fight with your brother! Haaa, sibling love, it’s a beautiful thing!
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family! And judging from the other guests’ comments, you have a wonderful, dedicated, loyal, loving and very supportive family and friends to tagalong on your journey!
Hey there Holly and Erin, Hope you guys are doing ok tonight. I have been saying prayers for you today and thinking of your big day tomorrow. Erin, I want to let you know that I admire your strength and your dedication to your family. You are definately someone everyone can look up to. Holly, I am very proud of you for being so brave. Grandma Mimi was telling me how amazing you have been (your Mom is telling her about how you keep on smiling and that you are determined to get this all done to come home). Thank you for sharing things with all of us. Craig was on your site today. I think he wasn’t sure if he should write something. He is a bit shy. But he wanted me to tell you hi and he hopes you are feeling okay. Your Grandma will have to tell you the story about how I accidentally messed up his hair and she had to come fix it and buzz cut it for me. It was bad (on my part). Anyhow, I am praying for God to continue to keep his loving arms wrapped around you and your family and keeping you safe. Hope tomorrow goes well for you both.
Hello Holly & Erin! I just showed Alex & Abby this site & they think the same as I do – it’s really cool! We want you to know that we are thinking of you, okay? We are sending you big hugs from the Daniel’s house. Tell your Mom hello from me & if she needs anything to just call – anytime. Or email me at work. We are getting a fun package together to mail to you soon. Thank you for sharing all this information with us. You are going to do great on Tuesday. Hang in there! You are a tough girl chickie! We miss your smiling face at Houghtaling so get better! Come home soon. Love, Alex, Abby & Tami Daniels
Hi Holly! You probably don’t remember me, but my son Daniel and you got your tonsils out at the same time – three years ago! Daniel had lymphoma, too, and knows the ins and outs of Children’s if you want to ask him any questions. He loves, loves, loves Hector in labs for taking blood – he is the best. I’m not sure if Ivy or Jean are still the nurses in the infusion room, but they are great, too. Jean usually has the best candy to take away the yucky taste of the medicine when they are flushing your port.
We are praying for you and please let us know if you have any questions or just want to talk with someone who has been through what you are going through. You have the best people taking care of you from your family to the doctors – so you will be fine! God bless!
hey holly, we miss you and hope you come back soon. we are having a great time and we wish you were here. holly we hope you fell better and come back to school. neva misses the most she was also crying =’(. come back soon
We hope you are feeling better. We are praying for you every night. We really like your website! It is so cool! We are going to try and come see you soon. We wish we could bring our dog Hurley since you love dogs so much but she is too crazy!! We will talk to you soon. Love you!
Hi Holly,
This is your Grandma Mimi’s Head Start friend. I know your Grandma is delighted that you have your own weg site and she can send you love notes and all kinds of silly stuff. My husband and I are in Portland. We spent the weekend at the beach with friends. It was beautiful with blue skies, long sandy beaches, and sun everywhere. It does not sound like Ketchikan’s beaches, but I love them too. We pray you are feeling better and that your next date with the doctor will be great. I know you will do everything your doctor says, so I know you will be up and running soon. Tell your mom, Erin, hi from me and keep smiling. We are prayer for a complete recovery soon and very soon.
Hi Holly,
All of your cousins up here in Bellingham, Ferndale, and Custer will be praying especially hard for you tomorrow. Be brave and remember that there a lot of people who love you!
Love, Your cousin Susie
Hi Sweet Girl, just checking in with you! It is a beautiful day today! It’s pretty darn cold though. I’m thinking about going to get Baby Ben in awhile but we’ll see how things go, he’s kind of got another cold and he might be crabby! Did you know he loves spongebob?? He gets so excited when it comes on tv, he yells “Bu-BOB!!!!!!!!!!” it’s so cute! Do you like Spongebob? I think it’s pretty silly but I watch it with him. I don’t know how they come up with crazy stuff like that??? Well hang in there and keep ur chin up okay?? Love you tons, Auntie Karen!!!!!
WOW Holly–how cool is that people from the UNITED KINGDOM (like ENGLAND) are praying for you! And Kentucky! That is cool! You are a pretty special girl! It is nice to read the notes from your classmates too! I am going to try and get a picture of all of your classmates to post on your web page!
It is a sunny day here!
Matt had the day off so Lily went and spent the morning with him and Sean. Tomorrow they are going to play with Oscar while I have my home visit.
Hope you are doing well! I pray for you every day! LOVE YOU UP TO THE SKY AND BACK!
Mimi
Today in Room 110 was pretty much like all of the other Monday’s that you have known this year, with one major exception…it is SUNNY! We did Morning Routines, DOL/Geography, SSR, Grammar, and the introduction of the vocabulary for this week’s story. We then all sat down at the computers and did an exploration of your website. Everyone was VERY impressed and now they all want me to teach them how to build their own websites…well, I’m not going to do that, but I am going to learn how to do it from Mrs.Truitt. She is going to do a seminar for teachers at the end of February so then I can start up one for our class! How cool will that be?
Holly,
Wendy Westin gave us your web page to look at and I am so impressed!! I live in Kentucky and I am a foster parent. I have had 188 kids over the last 22 years!!! One of my special kids had the disease you have. He had the chemo and all kinds of stuff but he is fine now and it’s all gone. It was a tough road but he succeeded and I know that you will, too.
I just wanted you to know that you are in our prayers here in KY and all over the United States. You are truly a blessed and special girl.
Big hugs,
wendy b.
We just got the e- mail from you.
We think you are going to be here soon and miss you.
We hope you get well soon.
We wish you were here so we can give you hug
LOVE,
Faith and Larsen
I have heard about you from my cyber friend, Wendy Weston. I am sad that you are going through all this discomfort now, but God knows about your situation and I know that there are many people who are thinking about you and praying for you. God bless you and keep you smiling.
This is Alexis and Neva writing to you .We wish we had a website. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
We miss you so much. We miss your smiling face. ;p
< I can make a fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Holly, This website is awesome…………..and so are you……….we are so happy to hear you are doing so well………….
We have known your Grama Mimi for along time and she is a very special friend of ours. You are so lucky to have her for your Grama!
We are sending you warm hugs and many prayers. You are a very special little girl and have many, many people in your life who love you and admire your strength and courage.
Have to ask………………do you get Big Macs and Fries everyday?!!!!
We thought it was pretty cool we flew down on the plane with you and your Dad and then got to sit right across the aisle from you!
Remember, we are keeping you close to our hearts throughout this “journey”.
Much love,
Sam & Janet Cagley
Holly,
I haven’t been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to meet you in person but I hear what a great fighter you are and that you are doing much better now. I wanted to let you know that you have touched my heart and I will keep you in my prayers. I’m sure you know how loved you are by family and friends which should help you in this journey. Your Auntie Karen has been forwarding your grandma’s emails to us and letting us know how you are doing. Keep up the good work!!
your friend,
Nancy
Wow! What a lucky girl you are – you must be the most famous 10 year old! Your grandma has been keeping me updated on your progress and it sounds like you are quite the amazing girl! This website is wonderful; bet you’re having a hard time keeping up with all the comments. We’re freezing here in Nevada! There’s snow on the mountains! Very unusual this late into the year but we need the moisture – the desert is very dry! Just want you to know many of us are checking in on you and we all care and love you and your family.
Hi Holly
I am a friend of your Grandmas and Auntie Karen’s .
We just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and your family.
We were happy to hear from your Grandma that you got out of the hospital and that you are doing so good.
We will be thinking of you often and wishing you nothing but good days to come.
-The Nickich family
Hi Holly!
I was so happy I was able to see you on Wednesday! We missed our plane Thursday morning but were able to get on an afternoon flight and then we forgot to pick up our luggage from the airport I guess we were just too tired from the trip! I wanted to know if you know anything about Mastiff dogs? My sister just got a Mastiff Puppy and she is having a terrible time with him. James liked him though. I hoped you liked the guardian angel.
Happy Valentine’s Day! We love you!
Miss Penny, Mr. Jim and James Joseph
I am very happy that your Grandma MiMi sent us this info. I will share it with Auntie Ruthie. Please know that we think about you often and I love the web-site. More later.
Hi Holly
Your grandma just sent me the link to your site. This is awesome and Robin Ashcraft is wonderful for making it for us so we can communicate. Keegan is spending the night with me tonight. He is sitting at the table playing with some Playdough. He likes to make roads with it and drive the matchbox cars on the roads. What do you do at the Ronald McDonald House? I bet they have lots of books and TV and stuff like that. Do you need anything? Please let us know because everyone in town is asking. We all love you so much. I’ll check in everyday to see what you are up to! I love your Christmas hat. You look like a real “cool” chick!
Love
Mary Ann and Keegan
HOLLY! You are one tough cookie and I know you are absorbing all of these new experiences! the kids and I are praying for you, sending you lots of hugs, and going to make this a regular event – to see what Holly is doing… today!..
Hi Sweet Girl!! I was so excited to hear about your website! What a lucky girl you are…..and just like us, we are soooooo lucky also to have you in our lives! We love you so much and are so excited to keep hearing how positive everything is going for you, I knew it would be like that though. How is the Ronald Mcdonald house? I bet you will be meeting some very special people. And they will be so lucky to meet you! Well keep up the good work and we love you and miss you!! Auntie Karen, Duane and boys……I will give the boys the website info so they can write you also okay? Have your Mom give you a hug from us and then you give her one from us also!!
Hey girlfriend!! What a great website Robin created. It’s going to be great to be able to communicate, read updates and just see how you are doing. We love you loads and are sending bushels of hugs and kisses your way.
Hey Beautiful!!! Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you always!!! We are so happy you have this website, you are so brave and an inspiration to us all!! We love you very much and keeping all of you in our prayers!!!
This is absolutely fabulous! I’m so glad that someone with what are clearly “mad skills” has done this for you, because it really does allow everyone the opportunity to let you know how much they care and are thinking about you. We (Room 110) have been sending email messages…however some of them are not getting through and are getting returned! I’ve got the entire tech department trying to figure out WHAT is going on.
I heard that Mrs. Penny came and visited you! I saw her in the hallway this morning and she gave me a full report. She says that you are “amazing” but I already knew that!
I wanted to make sure that you got the lap top (Mr. Hewitt is the bomb) and that it is all set up and working well for you, because I simply have to start sending you some school work!!! If there are troubles let us know ASAP and we will get the tech department working on that too!
It is great that you are out of the hospital! How is Ronald McDonald house? Does it smell like french fries? Have you met the Hamburglar yet? Okay…I admit those are silly questions but I couldn’t help myself!
Anyway! Email me soon, I have some serious “school questions” to ask you and your mom, and I’m betting that if you email me I can reply without it being returned!
Hi Holly,
You don’t know me but I worked with your Grandma Mimi many years ago and I think she is a very cool person. I think this web site of yours is really awesome! It looks like you have a great many people who love you and this is such a great way to let everyone see your progress. I just want you to know that I’ll be joining them in prayers and good wishes for you. Stay happy!
I wanted to let you know how much I LOVE you and how grateful I am to have such a wonderful girl like you in my life…how did I get soooo lucky? Please know that my heart and my soul is filled with prayers and love for you. Forever.
Hi Holly Girl! Can you believe you have your very own WEB PAGE??? That is too COOL, that Robin did this for you! I was your grandma before I ever had my own web page! You have touched the hearts of many people! You and your family have people from Anchorage, Alaska, California, Nebraska, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah all the way to Maryland praying for you! I always said your were a very special girl!
LOVE YOU UP TO THE SKY AND BACK!
XXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXOOXXMimi
Hi Holly,
Robin sent me the link to this right away so that I could see it. Pretty cool huh. It’ll be a great way for everyone that loves and cares for you to keep up on all of your progress to know how you’re doing. You are in so so many peoples prayers. I was with many today who expressed thier heartfelt care. I got the picture of yoou in the red dress. Wow, dont let that get around too much. All the boys in Seattle will be coming to bring you flowers too! Anyway, all our love… we’ll stay in touch, and let us know if there is anything that we can send or bring to you. I am pretty sure that Robiill be coming down soon, and I KNOW that she’ll be coming to see you. bye for now princess!

Holly, your Grandma Mimi forwarded me a recording of “When the stars go blue” they were playing it on KTKN Radio, her recording was’t too good, so when I went to your website, I was glad to see your first album posted, the recording is so much clearer. Pretty neat to have your first album. I will treasure it. I pray that you will beable to go home soon.

Hey Holly,
I’m working at Callisto Clinic today. As always when I work at Callisto, I was catching up on how you are doing. I think about you often. I was a nurse at Children’s Hospital when I first started working as a nurse and I worked on the Cancer floor. I miss your smile at Houghtaling. Jake misses you, also. I want you to know that you are somewhat of a celebrity. We all talk about you and pray for you and think about you…..all the time. Keep being patient, this time will end and you will be up here again. I know Jake and I can’t wait.
Love,
Tiffany

Hello Hollly and family,
Holly I have known who you were since you were born, I may not have seen you everyday or known all of your favorite things, but the one thing I have known all along is the tremendous amount of love your mom has for you and your brothers and sister. Your amazing grandma right at your mom’s side while each of you grew into beautiful young people.
I pray for your health and strength each day and I know that your family understands the power of prayer!!
Keep a smile on your face and one in your pocket!! I look forward to you coming home soon and hopefully will be able to send you a card so you can have mail!!!

Dear Holly,
YOUR CD is outstanding!!!!!!

Hi Holly!
Love you!
Mrs. Hewitt

Holly,
Congratulations on the remission! Great news. This is quite a marathon for you and your family, perhaps better likened to an ultramarathon. Try to relax and enjoy your summer in Seattle. Looking forward to hearing more good news in late July. Take care.

July 7th, 2009 at 2:52 am
Hey there Erin, Holly and the entire family! Glad to know that you are all down there together. That must be really nice. I bet it sure helps you get through the week. Sounds like all the upcoming appointments will be rough with the weather being so nice! We have been hot here too. It was my 20 year class reunion and I got a sunburn on my forehead and even my scalp! Go figure. We keep sending prayers your way! Tell everyone hi for us and Erin thanks for keeping this blog up. I know that must be difficult with all you are already doing. God Bless!!

Holly,
Did I really misspell school? Yipes!
M.
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:06 pm
Holly,
Stopped by the classroom this morning to water the plants.
Mr. O’B

June 24th, 2009 at 2:18 pm

I will be saying prayers for you guys.
Happy Friday! Congratulations on finishing chemo.
God Bless, Sharyl

God Bless,
Sharyl

Lots of love,
Miss Penny

Here in Ketchikan we are basking in the sun! It is totally amazing! AY AY AY. Poor Autumn is not feelign well today (I think from all the heat) so she is asleep on the couch! Unbelievable when it is 80 degrees out! Well anyhow, been thinking bout all of you and keeping you in my prayers. Take Care! Sharyl

This is Amber. It’s been really nice in Ketchikan lately, in the 70’s and 80’s. That’s so weird for us! We’re practically dying of the heat! I hope that it’s nice in Seattle like here. We all can’t wait until you come back!

Hello Holly Girl!
Glad you got a break and got to go see Uncle Ed, Auntie Laura, Anna, Em and Zach! I bet you loved their dog!
You said you went to the zoo there! The Portland zoo is one of the best! Was it hot?
The sun is out today but the last couple of mornings it’s been out and then starts to rain around 730!
Uncle Ed said that you looked good when he saw you! Did you get to the employee store?
more people coming to Curves so I need to stop writing!

Hi Holly,
Sounds like you have been getting to do some fun stuff despite going through chemo.
God Bless!

Hi, Holly,
Just want to say “Hello” and remind you that we are all thinking about you.
Mr. O’B.

Holly,
Good luck with the travel plans.
Later.

April 27th, 2009 at 10:52 pm

Hi Holly,
Wonderful news that Lillie will be able to help her big sister. We were thinking of you over Easter, hope you had lots of eggs to find. The boys spent half the day hiding them from each other.
Every time we go by your house we say a quick prayer for you. Keep up that beautiful smile and we’ll keep praying for you.

Mr. O’B.

Hi Holly,
We are slow in sending messages but we are praying for you and your family everyday. The boys have gumbed up my computer so I send this from work. So glad to hear you got the apartment having your own space is nice. We are anxiously waiting to hear the blood test results, praying for a good match with Dean or Lilly. Keep your chin up and hugs from the Potts’s
April 6th, 2009 at 4:46 am
Hi Holly & Erin,
Your apartment looks great! Hey Erin and Holly,
I just wanted to drop by and say hello.

Hey Erin & Holly,
Every night Ava and Morgan remember you in their prayers and they are praying that you get well very soon.

Take Care,
Sharyl

You pal,

It’s me, Amber. I was just stopping by your website to say “hi”. So here it is: HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not much has been going on, but the Kanayama kids from Japan came to Houghtaling!!!! The ones in my class were named Airi (Eye-lee) and Tamakoe. We also had an assembly. There were puppets, jump-roping, dancing, and lots of fun!
Well, that’s really all that’s been happening (it’s not much. is it?) so I guess I’ll get back to work.
Sincerely,
Amber

Much Love & Many Blessings,
Cherry Ferry
XOXOXOXO

Holly,
Hang in there, girly!

Hi Holly Girl,
The school was quite a buzz today being the last day before spring break, everyone sure misses you!
Love,
Larsen and mom Tonia Nebl

Love you! Call me!

Matt sure misses you and your mom, and so do we here at Houghtaling! I heard from Mrs. Berg that she had a nice visit with you last week. We think of you all the time and wish you well.

Hi Holly,

Just went to church and sat with Mimi (of course) in our usual chairs in the back. James almost made it but he’s still loud and busy.
You look like an angel in your pictures at the space needle! You’ve got some cute style going on girlfriend! Oh guess what? I guess some neighbors saw a cougar walking around in our new neighborhood! Freaky huh? It would be fun to see one in real life but not up close
Take care babe,
Love you lots,
Miss Penny
P.S. Hug the heck out of your mom for me and tell her to hug the heck out of you for me too!

March 5th, 2009 at 7:14 pm
Hey Holly!
) Yea!
It’s been a couple of days since I’ve written…sorry! I have a great excuse though. I’ve been working hard trying to line up your new Math books.

Those who were praying for him know better
The priest then said a real nice prayer for Holly.

**Jessica

We hope you are having a good night and staying strong. You are so awesome. Hang in there and we can’t wait until you can come back to Ketchikan!
March 2nd, 2009 at 12:34 am

It took me forever to figure out how to sign this book.

Dear Holly,
hey girl, I’ve only been in the hospital a couple of times, but I wanted to share a mind trick with you.

Hi Holly and Erin
I just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing. I think of you guys every minute of the day and wish I could drop in and say hello to you in person. I sent the link to your “journey journal” to my Aunt Gee Gee and my cousin JoAnne in Texas. I don’t know if you remember them, but they have visited us here in Ketchikan before. They are speading the word about you and your family to prayer chains in Texas, so you can add Texas to your list of states that are praying for you. Take care and I hope you girls have a good weekend.

Hey there Holly and Erin. Sounds like you had a rough day but did well. You sure are sounding grown up in your posts. Seems like yesterday that we had a baby bumble bee and unicorn on your couch getting ready to trick or treat (Dean and Autumn….. and you were a tiny girl then – how old were you then? Like 3? Whew! Amazing to think back on. Anyhow, hang in there and keep up the good work. We said a prayer for you tonight at our bible study group. There are some other people we said prayers for too for the same thing you have. God is keeping a good eye on you and he is keeping his loving arms wrapped all around all your family to keep you safe. If you need or want somethig, and I can pick it up for you. Erin, I got something for you. I will probably mail it with the stuff for Holly this weekend. Well ladies, I am tuckered out and better get some rest. Big hugs for you both! Holly, You don’t know of me but I go to your Aunt Jennifer’s church and she has asked for prayer for you while going through this.
I pray that God would surround you with his peace and presence daily and in the evening hours.
Lord, you have made each one of us and know every innermost parts of us and I pray that you would just make Holly whole again so we can give you all the praise and glory for this wonderful miracle you are going to do. Give her family that same peace and comfort as they help Holly through this chapter of her long life. Thank-you Father for caring for each of your children as if you only had one to look after. Take this special girl under your arm and hold her tight and never let her go…let her feel your presence. Amen

Ok,
So I’m not very clever about computers and put this in the wrong place.
Miss you!
Love and Best Get Well Wishes,
Ms. Antonsen

We’re praying that he can touch you in a special way and bring you and your family the comfort that only he can deliver. God Bless!

Hi Holly!
Think about it and get back to me when you can!
Love you sooo much!

~ Dawn

Take Care! Sharyl, Tony and all the kiddos

February 17th, 2009 at 4:17 am
God bless!

Hi Holly,
This is your Grandma Mimi’s Head Start friend.
Love and hugs,
Pam and Harry Gibson

Happy Monday Holly Dear!
February 16th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
Holly,
Wendy Westin gave us your web page to look at and I am so impressed!!
Big hugs,
wendy b.

Hi Holly!
I guess we were just too tired from the trip! I wanted to know if you know anything about Mastiff dogs? My sister just got a Mastiff Puppy and she is having a terrible time with him. James liked him though. I hoped you liked the guardian angel.
I was so happy I was able to see you on Wednesday! We missed our plane Thursday morning but were able to get on an afternoon flight and then we forgot to pick up our luggage from the airport
Happy Valentine’s Day! We love you!

Love

Holly Girl,
This is absolutely fabulous!
Love you!
Mrs. Hewitt

Hi Holly,
You don’t know me but I worked with your Grandma Mimi many years ago and I think she is a very cool person. I think this web site of yours is really awesome! It looks like you have a great many people who love you and this is such a great way to let everyone see your progress. I just want you to know that I’ll be joining them in prayers and good wishes for you. Stay happy!
